What is Crack?

Crack is the name given to the tearing in the dermis because of excessive expansion of skin tissue. Cracks that change colour by the time are initially observed as red or purple. Then these marks start to whiten.

How does Crack Occur?

The crack marks which occur because of damage of the elastin fibres, can occur due to many reasons. Rapid physical development during adolescence, hormonal changes, irregular weight gain, exercises made to improve the body and pregnancy are the most important factors in the formation of cracks. Cracks are more common in people who have collagen-fibre lack, are genetically tending to crack formation and have non-flexible skin.

In Which Areas Do Cracks Occur?

The cracks that can be seen in all body areas, generally occur in abdomen, hip, hipline, arm, leg, calf, back, shoulder and knees.

Crack Treatment Application

In order to prevent the crack formation, weight should be gained and lost in a healthy way, massage or special treatment should be applied to areas where there is a crack formation possibility.

Professional devices have been developed for crack marks together with the technical developments. With Fractional Laser, Gold Needle Radiofrequency, Carboxytherapy and Plasmage procedures, crack formation can be prevented. The aim in these applications is to repair the elastin tissue by activating the subcutaneous fibre and collagen tissue. The ideal number of sessions vary according to the skin and crack type of the person and is approximately 6-10 sessions. With these treatments, the person should consume plenty of water to strengthen the skin and the skin should not be left dry.
